A great soundboard tape ! Ed Wilcox - drums, percussion, vocals, harmonica / Leslie Q - fuzz bass, vocals / Mike Bell - guitar / John Stocks - trumpet, vocals, effects / Lora Bloom - synth, vocals....
"I think this show was set up by Justin from the band "Northern Liberties". The Cat Box was in the basement of a squat, or maybe it was something else, in West Philly around 40th st. if I'm not mistaken, which I might be, because the one thing I definitely remember about the evening was that I was very stoned on some unusually good grass. You can see that in the photo, with the silly grin of my face, which was taken by my good friend Chris Dennstaedt, who passed away recently. I hadn't seen Chris in years, since he moved to Philly from Baltimore, and this would be the last time I spoke with him, except through facebook. Before the show I went and got some excellent food at the near-by Hummus Grill to take back to the club, and eating the very juicy falafel while sitting on my amp resulted in the bottom falling out and covering the grill cloth with tahini sauce. I tried cleaning it up as best I could , but the show was starting soon, and the next day it was baked on, as it still is to this day, underneath the silk paisley scarf that I covered the grill-cloth with to hide the stain. I still have that vintage 80s Crate amp, and it's still in use as Blade's keyboard amp in my band Fuzz Unlimited. Those 80s Crates are hard to kill, and louder than you will ever need. I've got 3 of them ! We played with "Eulogy" from Philly , and a band from Texas called "Syzlack". The place was packed and it was a fun show, but also a weird night, and something VERY weird happened after our set that I won't go into here".... Mike Bell - Sept.29,2020
