the story of the florida video and the soundtrack album begins with my lifelong love affair and fascination with the state of florida. what a weird place. parts of it seem like they are from another planet. the same can be said of the wildlife and the people you might find there... in 2007 i got a cellphone that also shot short video clips. i began sending these to my friend jennifer instead of postcards, chronicaling my travels around the country as a truck driver. we did alot of buisness in florida, and sometimes i would be there every week if i was lucky. if i was really lucky i would get to go to the beach 2-3 times a week. i was living in baltimore and had a year-round tan. jennifer saved all these "video postcards" on her hard-drive, and planned on making a movie out of them. while that has yet to happen, i have made 4 music videos with the footage. "florida" is one of them. the other 3 are also up on my youtube page :

anyway... i made the "florida" video at home using a laptop. several versions actually. when i was finally satisfied with the final cut, i sent it to MT6 records, who were releasing my material at the time. time passed and nothing happened. then i called to see what was going on and it turned out they had lost the master. i didnt have a back-up, videos take up alot of space on a laptop, so i had to go with a dvd print of another version. meanwhile i had made a soundtrack album, but the album didnt have any of the music used in the video that eventually was put up on youtube and never released as a dvd along with the other 3 videos and some live performances. MT6 released the soundtrack album, which is now available as a download for half the price of the original cd. an ironic part about this album is all the tracks were recorded in chicago in 1997 before i ever thought of making a video about "florida"... ENJOY !!!
