"This show was on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, usually a "dead weekend" for musicians, and this was no exception. Small crowd, which is a shame because they missed a really great show. The evening was put together by Mary Knott, who was booking every other Saturdays at the Bottom Floor, located in the basement of an old church on Harford Rd. in the Hamilton neighborhood of N.E. Baltimore, and was a regular gig for our band "the Dirt" as the opening act. Also on the bill was Leslie's side project "the Karen Army", and "Zim Zowie", who brought a killer p.a., and whose members included 2 old friends I hadn't seen in ages - Billy McConnely, an old-school rocker from way back, and Tony Deljudis aka Tony Baloney, who I worked with back in 1979 pumping gas at the Exxon station on Hollins Ferry Rd. across the street from the Carling brewery in Landsdown. A fun set with Virginia keeping the crowd active with beach balls being batted around, me breaking 3 strings and cutting my hand on something, and lots of goofing around in the old church later that night....
